novaFACTORY Release 4.3

M.O.S.S. releases novaFACTORY 4.3 for advanced spatial data management

M.O.S.S., a leading provider of spatial-based information and technology solutions, today announced the release of its new novaFACTORY 4.3, an advanced Spatial Data Management solution for geodata cataloguing, exploitation and dissemination.

novaFACTORY has been enhanced to make spatial data management more efficient. Version 4.3 features improved capabilities and workflows for greater flexibility in integrating spatial data management into organization’s existing business processes. novaFACTORY supports ArcGIS Server and common spatial databases, such as Oracle and SQL.

Among the highlights of the newest release is the new LIDAR module in response to the growing need for easy 3D point clouds integration from laser scanner data. The LIDAR export process allows for the seamless export of large collections of LIDAR points to LAS files (version 1.0 and 1.1), the standard binary file format used for exchange of LIDAR point cloud data. In addition, points can be exported to raster, ASCII, or TIN objects.

novaFACTORY also introduces expanded support for additional popular data formats such as DXF, 3D DXF, JPEG2000, and ECW. novaFACTORY’s workflow for automated vector data import now features a mechanism for differential update that considers only the geodata that has changed since the last full update, e.g., added, modified and removed objects.

The 4.3 release also introduces new capabilities for more flexible integration with external applications and web services, further strengthening the software’s capabilities for building INSPIRE-ready Spatial Data Management solutions, such as the soon to be released INSPIRE.Insight from M.O.S.S.
